Monterey Jack Cheese

Joy. Oh joy. Last night I had a hard time eating the spaghetti that was set on the table so surprise....suprise. I opened the fridge. Searching through a messy refridgerator is no glamorous job and guess what I found.... CHEESE!...AGAIN! But this this time it was one of my favorites. Monterey Jack cheese. A combination made to make my taste buds go "gaga". Monterey Jack cheese, first of all, is delicious. A kid favorite! It has sort of a tanginess to it and it's real smooth. It tastes pretty good with anything. However there is one thing that can totally cover the taste of Monterey cheese--- Soy milk. I was drinking soy milk while i was tasting cheese last night and I noticed that everytime I took a swig from the can I couldn't taste the cheese when I bit it. Weird. but a good discovery otherwise.

A confession.... about cake

Lollipops. Crab Sushi. Soy sauce. Bananas. Watermelon. Oranges. Tomatoes. All mentioned above are food that I definitely don't enjoy but eat it anyway--- i don't want to be rude at the dinner table you know. but I have my limits too. When enough is enough I take my stand. For my fourteenth birthday my family gave me chocolate cake. I HATE CHOCOLATE CAKE! but i eat it during other people's birthday because i don't want to waste food when they give it to me. Every single birthday I ever attended had a CHOcOLATE cake. SO finally when my birthday came instead of eating my chocolate cake...ick.... I didn't have to. Every single bite I had to force down my throat will forever haunt me. Every chocolatey icing I licked off my spoon scares me. Yet, I have not died! I will survive! I will survive! okay yep that's all I have to say tonight. I've gone a bit crazy but it'll pass... It always does.

Every runny-nose kid's dream... fulfilled at last

In the house of every new parent is a child. In the room of every child is a shelf. Now this shelf is no ordinary shelf. This shelf will contain some of the first very vital needs of that child. This shelf contains a box. A box colored yellow and playfully decorated with green triangular stripes. This box is a magic fortress. Children fly to space, to disneyland, to a tropical forest, to a zoo, any where with their own wings. They live in a house made of pizza. They slide down a 50 foot waterslide with shoes on - impossible? Not in the mind of a child. In the mind of a child everything is possible. Especially when you are equipped with a 48 BIG box of crayons. Today my friends, i have recieved a 48 pack of crayons from my dear cousin. It's a foolish wish to want a box of crayons at my age but you should know. I was deprived of a big box of crayons when i was younger.
I grew up perfecting my coloring skills, advancing my hand writing ( i can write with both hands now), painting my name and a huge sheet of paper, cutting origami, enjoying art projects, I practicaly am an arts and crafts person. Yet, I did not own a big box of crayons. "Why crayons?" you may ask. Well, I find crayons to be quite satisfying. Coloring pencils are too annoying with all their uneven shading purposes. Pastels are just too darn messy. Paints? HA! you need to refill your water container like every 25 minutes.... no way, it's just too much work. I love how the crayons look when you use them up. The unevenness and dullness of the crayon gets me every time. I love ripping the paper off... its like unravelling yourself to see the true beauty underneath all your powder and hairspray, allowing people all around to see your true colors. I've always had a love for crayons...and nothing will ever change that.
Now.... the reason why my parents never got me a big box of crayons was because in my Lolo's house that we use to live had a really tall white marble limestone wall. Being quite young at that time and wanting a calendar, i drew on the wall. I used a green permanent marker and drew "X"s all over it all high as I reach which was 3 feet. My mother gasped in shock. She spent the entire Sunday afternoon scrubbing the wall and attempting to remove my green "X"s before my Lolo got home. It just didn't work. It is there forever and even to this day I can still see it everytime i go to that house. This was the reason why I did not have a big box of crayons.... but alas my dear friends, I have my dream box of crayons today.

My Summer

My Summer
By: Winona Garcia

We jumped into a car
but not too fast
Not so far
is the beach at last

We set up a mat
and drank some juice
as parents sat
children went loose

I swam in the sea
and played with sand
I felt so free
like a bird above land

I was flying my kite
but it snapped by the string
It flew out of site
into the most beautiful thing

A sky with a sun
half hidden by the sea
and the day was done
for my family and me

yup i made that poem during summer after my freshmen year in highschool....

Colby Jack cheese

hello again!

okay so my daddy-O just bought our family some new cheese and the great thing is that it's from Great Lakes brand! They have the tastiest cheese my taste buds have ever ravished over. I was just poppin' around my parents' fridge to see if they got some cranberry juice from the grocery store when I moved over the Kix cereal and BAM!!!! Colby Jack cheese all wrapped up in a zip lock bag. I took it out. Waited for the fog to clear up ( at this point I was still in disbelief of the fact that we got some really good cheese) and then I let the cheese bar just slip into my palm. I smelled it and it was glorious. "is something wrong with this?" I thought to myself. " why does it look like no one ate it?" then I saw it. The perfect Colby Jack cheese was slightly shorter than it's package. Someone had taken a one slice from the cheese and then put it back. Who is crazy enough to take just one slice from a bar of Colby jack cheese and put it back? A flashback came suddenly. There wasn't enough cheese in our salad last night but the cheese that was present was soooo good. After I gained my thoughts back I closed the fridge door, opened up the cabinet, took out a platito and knife, turned on some TV ( Ellen was on... how perfect) and had a little party of my own. It was a party of three. Me, Mr. Twistefur ( my bear) and good ol' TV set. Ahhhhhh.... Lord, Thank you for today.

A kick start

Hey! looks like i'm gonna be on here now. I never knew that this is how you can start a blog... it's pretty awesome at the moment. Who knew i'd be up here with all the other internet yuppies? Anyway, it's all good. I'm not too sure what to say or what to do but i'll get the hang of it. My teacher told me that i have to say stuff about the blog and what i'm gonna put in it. I'm planning to put my poems inhere and talk about the different kinds of cheese from time to time. I know, I know, "why cheese?". Well, i really like cheese and living here in the philippines you only get one type - cheddar- which doesn't taste like the cheddar in the states but hey! it tastes like milk. I personally don't like milk. I just lose my appetite for everything. That can't happen or else my Lola ( grand mother) gets mad... she likes her grand children to eat alot.
